I'm terminally ill and to remember me I suggested to my husband that he take over my phone number after I've gone so he will think of me every time he uses the phone.

He thought it was a great idea.

Is this something that can be done?

Hey there @Bernie, we’re very sorry to hear about your illness @Bernie, and thank you for your question.

Unfortunately, you cannot change the name on account at any point, for any reason. However, if he would like to keep the account open for you, even under your name, you can change the bank details if you wish to his. Or, if you wish to keep your number and put it into his name, you can ask for a PAC code to transfer the number to another network, where he can then set up a new contract under his own name with them, meaning your number would then be with them, but under his name, if that makes sense.
