how to add new phone number to app when you cant receive text

Hi, I bought an ID Mobile sim to put in a 4g router to run a home broadband system. I already have my phone sim registered on the app but when I try to add the new 4g router sim to the app it wants to send me a code by text to confirm. Because the sim is in a 4g router I can’t get that code! Is there another way around this e.g. getting the code by email? Thanks.

iD SIM’s are not officially supported to be used in routers but they do work. Check the router interface to see if you can receive SMS’s on it. Failing that you would need to put the SIM into a handset just to get the OTP.

Hey there @ordinarypunter, as kindly advised by @MZone, we only support the usage of our SIM cards within the handset devices listed on our website, and handset devices only.

Therefore, our security systems and one-time codes are set up based on this, so can only be sent to handsets via SMS. Therefore, if you wish to register an account, you’ll need to use the SIM card inside an approved handset, at least just to get the code, and there’s no official workaround I’m afraid.

Thanks,

Tyler
