New Phone with ID - Do I Cancel old ID Account?

I have an iPhone with ID Mobile but have recently bought a Google Pixel 9A also with ID and have moved the SIM card to the new phone.

Can I now just delete my account for the iphone on the ID website by clicking  ‘Cancel my ID plan’ to stop the Direct Debit and then use the link in the email I received on buying the new phone to set up a new account?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey there @PhilMc, as mentioned, to keep your phone number, you need to upgrade, not order a completely new plan. The only way to keep your number is to upgrade, or complete a triangle port which I’ll explain below:

Unfortunately, it isn't possible to move a number directly from one iD Mobile account to another iD Mobile account. We'd require a PAC code from another network to move a number to an account:

In this case, you may be able to try the following triangle port method;

1) Get a PAC code for the number you wish to keep.

2) Purchase a Pay As You Go (PAYG) SIM from any OTHER network.

3) Give your PAC code to the new PAYG SIM provider to transfer your number from iD Mobile to the PAYG network.

4) Once it's been transferred over, this sends your number to the new network on PAYG and cancels your old contract with us automatically, the final bill will be sent via email.

5) Once the number has fully transferred to the PAYG network allow 24 hours and then request a PAC code from them.

6) Transfer your number to the new iD Mobile plan via PAC code at the link below, once the transfer is fully complete your PAYG SIM will be disconnected and the desired number will be on the new iD Mobile account.

Note; With a new iD Mobile account, you'll need to register a new iD Mobile app/website account to using an email address that hasn't been used previously to register.

Thanks,

Tyler

Hey there @PhilMc, have you ordered a completely new, separate plan, or was this an upgrade please?

Thanks,

Tyler

Hey @PhilMc, no problem. Deleting your plan from your iD Mobile account and cancelling the direct debit does not cancel the contract, and charges will still continue. To cancel the contract, you need to request a 30-day disconnection via the iD Mobile app/website, or via customer services. You can find out how to do so via the app/website here when logged in:

  • In the iD Mobile app or My Account Online.
  •  To disconnect in the iD Mobile app or My Account Online, you can:

  • Open the iD Mobile app or log-in to My Account Online.
  • Tap ‘Plan’.
  • Tap ‘Leave iD’.
  • Tap ‘Cancel my iD plan’.

  • Live Chat.
  • The quickest way to disconnect is in the iD Mobile app, but if you’re experiencing issues, simply chat to us.

Please note, that as you’ve opened a new plan, you cannot directly transfer your phone number to this plan. If you wish to keep your number, you’d have needed to upgraded via the iD Mobile app/website, or complete a triangle port which I can explain further if needed.

Finally, if you plan to keep your new contract and disconnect the old one, we need 30-days for a normal disconnection, so the old plan will remain active for the next 30-days, and you’ll be charged accordingly for those 30-days as the plan remains active still

Thanks,

Tyler

You cannot transfer your old iD Mobile number to your new iD Mobile account. If you wanted to keep your number, you should have upgraded. You will have to port it out to another network and port it over again onto your new iD Mobile account.
