remove adult content filtering not working

Kirby Watkins

So on my ID app I removed the adult content filtering.. however this has not worked, and now my Google safe search has been switched on and I cannot switch it back off because 'ID is the administrator'

Hi @peteralston

There aren’t any known issues on our side with the adult content filter, are you still having issues with this?

Please let us know if so so we can get in touch.

We’ll be able to get in contact with you to assist here, or for a quicker service, we’d recommend using the Live Chat, Facebook or Twitter.

Hi @Kirby Watkins

We wouldn’t have control over your Google safe search, if your adult content filtering is on we’d block it on our level, not via your Google account.

Could you screenshot the error message you see if you’re still getting it?

Adult filtering content, turned it off and waited for an hour to find it still hadn't worked turn it off again to try again and then it’s removed the option completely to turn it on and off it’s turned grey on my app, how would I be able to sort this issue out my Google safe search had been locked for a while now due to your guys safe search filter

Hi @Csmoke,

Welcome to the Community!

Have you checked your handset settings to ensure that there are no blocks there?

If you are still having issues, I would advise contacting the Live Chat Team and they can take a look into this.

it’s an ID issue - room many people are suddenly finding it happening - I’ve not changed anything from last week, all of sudden , even though the filter is off, I’m getting an ID mobile page saying I need to turn it off!!!!

tried Live Chat, and you are apparently unexpectedly busy - that’s rubbish - or you could tell me when the quiet times are and I’ll retract that!

It won't allow me to access adult content even though the filter is off. There were no issues with my phone yesterday and all the time I had a Vodafone SIM card, this doesn't bode well on my first day with ID.

Hey @andy.hales,

It can take up to 24 hours for it to kick in, make sure you don’t keep toggling ti on and off, just switch it off and leave it. You aren’t using a VPN or iCloud Private Relay as that can interfere?

Thanks.

Yeah I also have started getting annoying message that Adult content filter is on. It's been off for few months, I haven't changed anything. I have checked on App and the switch is off. So it's definitely issue on ID Mobile side.

@Games133 @DungaBaba -

Have you tried turning it on, leaving it for 1 hour, then turning it off again? Thanks.

@Matthew T I had live chat with ID Mobile in the morning. The guy turned it off but it didn't work. He told me to wait for 1 hour and now it's been 6 hours and I am still getting the same message

Access restricted

Your adult content filtering is switched on.

I know it's not switched on, stupid ID mobile.

@Tom The adult content filter issue is definitely on your side. There are so many people complaining and you guys not even recognising and hence investigating that it's ID mobile issue. Even your customer services not able to disable 😒

@DungaBaba, @Rick.T, @Tommy5:

I’ve just flagged this with the team. Can you confirm it’s off in the iD Mobile app (Don’t toggle it on/off if it is off) and  try a Manual Roam, see if that fixes things?

iPhone:

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Tap ‘Mobile Service’.

  3. Tap ‘Network Selection’.

  4. Turn off the ‘Automatic toggle’.

  5. Choose a different network (Vodafone, EE or O2 - UK).

  6. Wait for 1 minute.

  7. Switch the automatic toggle back on.

Samsung:

  1. Open ‘Settings’.

  2. Tap ‘Connections’.

  3. Tap ‘Mobile Networks’.

  4. Tap ‘Network Operators’.

  5. Turn off the ‘Automatic toggle’.

  6. Select a different network (Vodafone, EE or O2 - UK).

  7. Wait for 1 minute.

  8. Switch the automatic toggle back on.

Android:

  1. Open ‘Settings’.

  2. Tap ‘Network & Internet’.

  3. Tap ‘Mobile network’.

  4. Tap ‘Advanced’.

  5. Tap ‘Network operators’.

  6. Select a different network (Vodafone, EE or O2 - UK).

  7. Wait for 1 minute.

  8. Switch back to Automatic selection.

Same issue today after no changes for 6 months from joining.

6 options in account management with roulette of only allowing 4 of the 6, adult content restrict untucked and no change after an hour.

Laughably I also had to do the whole "re- register" which is a forced nudge to download the app. I'm a web log in user only.

Reset new password and could log in under new one, for 5 mins, them refused new as non match.

Still no adult access and again laughably I'm using another account to log in, which hasn't required re registering, surprise, to even look up chats on these issues.

Only here to say hi and bye as hopefully requested PAC code though now can't access account but don't care anymore.

This is a car crash of bad coding and jaded marketing ploys.

Laters.

I just joined ID and I'm currently using two sims in my mobile device. O2 and ID. I switched off adult filter in ID app but still websites are blocked. I switch to use o2 so and everything works.

Hello @Piotr Sobczak

Thank you for getting in touch.

We are very sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with the filter.

Can you please check that there are no filter settings that need to be updated on your browser?

Also, are you having the issue when connected via mobile data or WiFi?

Thanks,

Nat
