buying a pay monthly phone on ID, but already have an ID contract

Looking to buy a pay monthly phone on mobiles.co.uk with an ID tariff, currently have a ID sim (sim only, 1 month rolling contract) in a phone that’s having problems, hence the change.

New phone will have a new number, so will it be straightforward getting my existing phone number ported to the new sim?

Normally its just a pac code request, is it any different when its ID to ID?

All help appreciated.

Hi @MeandMe

Unfortunately, it isn't possible to move a number directly from one iD Mobile account to another iD Mobile account. We'd require a PAC code from another network to move a number to an account.

Please try this method to keep your number:

  1. Get a PAC from iD for the number you want to keep.
  2. Give the PAC from step 1 to a PAYG service provider, e.g. ASDA Mobile, giffgaff, etcetera.
  3. Wait until the number you want to keep has been successfully switched to the provider chosen in step 2.
  4. Get a PAC from provider chosen in step 2, for the number you want to keep.
  5. Give the PAC from step 4 to iD Mobile for the iD contract you’re planning to keep

Or you can try upgrading the SIM only contract you currently have.
