I have tried on several times to transfer my number across without success, this is supposed to be a easy process and have never had this much trouble with any other provider

Talk to an advisor at https://idmobile.co.uk/live-chat (via popup window in a browser).
The advisors work until 8pm on weekdays (type “talk to a person” to avoid the 24/7 chat-bot).
I managed to sort it, just use desktop version of the web page rather than the mobile version
