changed number but still getting texts from old number

I asked ID for a new phone number. The new number came through successfully. I'm still using the same SIM.  ID mobile said I don't need a new SIM 

When I send text messages, people are sometimes still receiving them on my old number. How can this happen if the old number was disconnected?

Okay @Stardust, if you’re using Apple iMessage or Google RCS for sending your messages, this sometimes happens if you used the iD SIM card in your device, before the number you wanted to keep was switched to iD Mobile. 

Performing a NETWORK RESET on the handset with your iD SIM can fix this issue.

Okay @Stardust, if you’re using Apple iMessage or Google RCS for sending your messages, this sometimes happens if you used the iD SIM card in your device, before the number you wanted to keep was switched to iD Mobile.
