Faulty phone only a month old

I have had my iPhone 13 (bought on a plan with ID) for about a month and I am suddenly unable to plug a charger into the charging port. It looks like 2 metal pins are sticking out into the port and no charger will fit. This happened out of nowhere, not following a drop of my phone or anything. The issue is not fluff or debris. Why is this happening on a brand new phone? I am not happy about this and would expect to be sent a replacement. 
 

in addition to this, since swapping to ID mobile, my phone cannot send SMS messages and it seems to be affecting my WiFi which seems very strange to me as WiFi is separate and with a different provider but it has only happened since getting my new phone. I was not going to get in touch just yet about these matters as I have been managing but since I have now also got a problem with my physical phone I am even less impressed and require support with this.

We are very sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with your new handset. 

For any faults, we would recommend taking the handset to a Curry’s store for inspection. The team will then advise on the next steps and if the handset will need to be sent for repair.

 

With the message issue, are the problems with texts or iMessage please? I ask as you have mentioned WiFi. If you could expand on this problem, we would be happy to assist further.

Hi Natalie,

 

The issue is with text messages, iMessages work fine but of course SMS does not work via WiFi. I don’t use this often but some relatives use SMS and I am unable to reply.

When you go to send a text message, what happens please? 

Have you tried sending to multiple numbers? 

Is your number showing correct in the handset? Setting - Apps - Phone - My Number
