How to register my smartphone with ID?

Hello... I bought new mobile phone and want to insure it. The insure company wants me to register it with my network provider which ID is. How can I do it?

iD Mobile customer service is correct when they tell you that once you insert your SIM card into the phone, the network will have the IMEI of the device. The IMEI is also sent to the network every time you make a call or send an SMS. If you ever make a claim on your insurance, you will be asked for proof of purchase, proof of usage and proof of barring (if lost/stolen).

iD Mobile can provide you with proof of usage and proof of barring but as you didn't obtain the phone through iD Mobile they won't be able to provide you with proof of purchase.

Hi @Asagran

Thanks for getting in touch.

Can you please expand on the request from the insurance company?

Was the handset purchased from iD Mobile?

Hi Natalie,

I didn't buy my device at ID. But during the insurance paperwork customer service told me to make sure to register insured device with my network provider

Later I spoke about it with ID customer service, and from our talk it came out that as soon as I insert my Sim card into the phone, the network will have the IMEI of the device the sim card is in, which I trust should be enough for Insurance Company.

In that case I would like to make sure there is no specific procedure of register of device, so my procedure with insurance company is ok.
