new customer - no calls, texts or data

Hi, I am a new customer and have just purchased an iPhone 16 pro with ID mobile. I have inserted the SIM card provided but there is no signal. Calls, text and mobile data does not work.

When inserting the sim in to my old phone, iPhone 13 , it works but not in my new one. The iPhone 16 pro says it is unlocked and not restricted to a particular network.

Please can you help .

Thanks

Okay @Blueben, iD Mobile don’t sell network locked handsets.

If the ‘new’ iD SIM works in your ‘old’ iPhone 13, but not the ‘new’ iPhone 16 Pro, sounds like a handset problem.

Do you have a screenshot for your iPhone 16 with the ‘new’  iD SIM inserted?

Hey there @Blueben, welcome to Community!

If the SIM works in one phone, and not in another, as @andewhite has kindly advised, this is more than likely a handset issue, opposed to a SIM or coverage issue.

Is the phone unlocked and was the phone purchased via us?

Thanks,

Tyler

Hi @andewhite and @Tyler ,

The phone is unlocked and I purchased it with an ID mobile contract from mobiles.co.uk

I’ve attached a screenshot. Let me know if you require any further information. Please advise what you think I should do.

its worth noting that my phone number from my previous provider is due to switch tomorrow but I would still expect the use the service whilst I’m waiting for the switch to happen so presumably this is not the cause of my issue.

Thanks,

Hi @andewhite @Tyler , the phone is unlocked and I purchased the contract with ID mobile from mobiles.co.uk.

I’ve attached a screenshot as requested. What do you advise that I should do?  Just to point out, I am bringing my old phone number over from my previous provider to ID. The switch will happen tomorrow but I’m assuming I should still have an active service on my new handset in the meantime.

Thanks

Hi @Blueben

Have you tried a replacement SIM/eSIM?

@Tom no because the sim works in my iPhone 13.

@Tom once requested is an e-sim received and activated immediately? I’ve seen on my new handset that I can request one. My previous number should be transferring to ID today so presumably I should wait for that process to complete before attempting to request an e-sim?

Hi @Blueben

If you request an eSIM it’d be sent to you via email and then you can activate it when you want to, you don’t need to wait for a number transfer to complete, it wouldn’t interfere with the process.
