Hi Daz

Went to currys and got another SIM yesterday and the online assistance helped activate it. Seems to be working ok now. Thanks for your help.

Hi there @zico

Try the new iD SIM in your old phone to see if it shows an iD network. If it does then it sounds like the iPhone is faulty. If it doesn’t you could try popping down to Currys and ask them for a replacement SIM (take your new phone and new SIM too as they should check both for you anyway).

Hi

Really appreciate your help. I have tried the sim in other phones but still no luck.

Really frustrating as the support is quite poor for ID. I’ll take it to currys tomorrow.

Thank You

Honestly its not a problem @zico

Let us know if a replacement SIM sorts it

You have to activate the new SIM, this should help:

Hi Daz,

I have clicked on the link activate new e sim and set up a account. Only problem is that it tries to send me a verfication code to my number but I don’t get anything because the sim just says no service? any idea what I can do next?

Thanks

Oopsie @zico. The card you were sent should have been set up by iD before they dispatched it. It would have been sent with a provisional phone number - you can either keep that one - or if you’re bringing your number from your previous provider that number would be updated to that SIM after the port completes.

The replacement SIM is the one you would need to activate, not the one you already have.

Having said that, you may as well try this

  1. Visit this website: https://my.idmobile.co.uk/activate-sim-outside.
  2. Tap ‘No, not yet’.
  3. Choose your plan type.
  4. Enter your iD Mobile number.
  5. Select a contact method to receive your security code.
  6. Enter your security code.
  7. Tap ‘Submit security code’.
  8. Enter and confirm your 19-digit SIM card number.
  9. Tap ‘Activate your SIM’.

(I think number 5 gives an option to get it via email, though I’m not 100% on that)

Hi Daz

Finally came through and said SIM has been already activated. Unfortuantely at a dead end.

Thanks

Hi @zico

I’m so sorry for the delay. My home internet was down yesterday and my mobile data wouldn’t work either.

So the SIM is active and yet it still doesn’t work?

Or is it working (as in showing iD as your network) but you have little to no signal at all?
