I have received a new sim card from ID with a new phone number. I have put the new sim card in the phone. It requires activation.  To activate I need to lock the sim card. I don't have a sim number to lock the card so I can't proceed any further.

Hi there @Tony Lummis

The default SIM pin is 0000 (4x zeros)

Then it should be either of these

If you’ve not registered for the iD Mobile app or My Account Online, you can:

  1. Visit this website: https://my.idmobile.co.uk/activate-sim-outside.
  2. Tap ‘No, not yet’.
  3. Choose your plan type.
  4. Enter your iD Mobile number.
  5. Select a contact method to receive your security code.
  6. Enter your security code.
  7. Tap ‘Submit security code’.
  8. Enter and confirm your 19-digit SIM card number.
  9. Tap ‘Activate your SIM’.

If you’re an existing customer then:

To activate a replacement SIM in the iD Mobile app or My Account Online, you can:

  1. Open the iD Mobile app or log-in to My Account Online.
  2. Tap ‘Plan’.
  3. Tap ‘SIM & phone management’.
  4. Tap ‘Activate a replacement SIM’.
  5. Enter and confirm your 19-digit SIM card number.
  6. Tap ‘Activate your SIM’.

You can read more on the SIM pin here:

Hope this helps?

Can log in to my account but wont accept my details. Doesn't say which detail is wrong. Just going round in circles as is usual with this company. However thankyou for trying.

Okay Tony. Sounds silly but if your details are auto filling make sure there isn’t any spaces after each section - ie youremail or youremail<space>

Have a look at this too:

Hi Tyler, Many thanks for your suggestion. However, I am now unable to log in. I am being told that the phone number I have entered is already linked to another account with that e mail address.  I have no idea what they are talking about. As I can't log in I cant get any further because I cant get on the chat line.

This all came about because I lost my phone. Same provider Id. I took out a new plan with Id and got a new number. This has caused me no end of problems. I have received a new sim card from id with my old number on it. However I don't have a “Sim Card “ number. The default 0000 does not work. So I cant unlock the sim card. I'm a fairly laid back sort of bloke in my eighties but this is causing me stress I could well do without. If you have access to the chat perhaps you could copy this to them. I do have a phone with an Id plan but I don't want to put the number non here.  Sorry about the rant.

Thanks anyway.

Tony.
