Question

new to id

My partner and I have just taken out contracts and phones with id.

iphone 16 pro max, numbers ported from previous network easily enough.

We are both having a nightmare getting banking apps and anything that requires a verification text code or two stage verification to work as we don’t seem to be able to receive the text. Normal text messages are going through.

Ive spent half the day trying to get to the bottom of this, i have read lots of threads about the same problem here which just seem to end with no known outcome or fix. Ive chatted with the live chat, my  partner has been on the phone with customer support, both  seem to be oblivious to the cause and have directed us to do all the usual stuff.
From what i gather, the verification text messages are not going through as they require another level of security to send properly, something that requires 2fa codes from technical support and that seems to be an ongoing problem with anyone transferring from another network to id.

Neither of us has had any issues transferring networks before. Surely there is a fix for this ??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @G4M

Do you have an E-SIM installed?

If so, have you tried switching off your eSIM then switching off your phone and then switching both back on?
(To disable an eSIM, navigate to your phone's settings, then find the section related to SIM cards or mobile data. Locate the eSIM you wish to disable and toggle the switch to the "off" position. This will temporarily disable the eSIM without deleting it)

And you can try the same if you have a physical SIM (info for an iPhone):-

  1. Open Settings: Tap the Settings icon on your iPhone's home screen.
  2. Access Cellular or Mobile Data: Scroll down and tap either "Cellular" or "Mobile Data" (depending on your iPhone model and settings).
  3. Select the SIM: In the Cellular or Mobile Data section, you'll see a list of your SIM cards (if you have more than one). Tap on the SIM you want to turn off.
  4. Turn Off the Line: Locate the "Turn On This Line" switch and toggle it off.
  5. Confirmation: You may be asked to confirm your action. Tap "Turn Off" to proceed.

I have seen, on the internet, that this was a solution that worked for the same problem where an E-SIM was installed.

Good luck x

Hi Decemberangel72,

Thanks for the reply, no esim, its a physical sim. And no, ive been through all the recommended tips and fixes, both myself and my partner at the same time on the phone to customer support, made no difference.

To be honest, its clear from all the posts on this forum  that there is a major problem with the id network and verification codes. All the so called solutions that are being offered don’t make any difference. Doesn’t matter which phone you have, how many times you reset your settings, turn it on and off, delete and reinstall apps. The problem is with id and they don’t seem to know how to fix it. How on earth is there so many people with the same issue and id seem to be clueless.

Very frustrating. Please help.
