Not getting OTP

I am not getting any OTPs. It looks like a lot of people are having these issues. I have followed the steps advised in other posts such as network reset, RCS chat reset etc but none have helped. After turning the phone back on after RCS reset, I am not able to use RCS chat any more. It is trying to verify my number but not able to do it. Now I get the normal SMS messages but not get any messages sent via RCS.

I have recently ported my number from another network on 6th May. Could it be an issue regarding the porting?

Hey there @dsingh36, we’re sorry to hear that.

To confirm, the below won’t work at all for you?

1) Open Messages, go to Settings (top right, Message Settings), open "Chat Features" or "RCS Chats", verify if this is the correct number or not.

2) If it shows the incorrect one, then head to: https://messages.google.com/disable-chat and you should be able to unregister the number. Once done, turn off the Chat Features/RCS and the phone. Wait a few minutes and turn the device back on and re-enable Chat Features/RCS it should let you re-register/update to the correct number. Alternatively, you can turn Chat Features/RCS off and test SMS after this.

Thanks,

Tyler
