We have PAC code transferred my daughters number from another provider and I've had confirmation thay the transfer is complete. When I text or call her on the transferred number she receives it and when she calls me it comes up on my phone as her saved number, however when she texts me (even a direct reply to my text message) it shows the other number on my phone. We have tried turning the phone off and on again but it makes no difference. Any advice please?

Have you tried a NETWORK RESET on your daughter’s phone with her iD SIM, @Jen Brotheridge

The handset’s user guide explains the reset procedures.

I haven't, I'll give it a go. Thank you

Hey there @Jen Brotheridge, welcome to Community!

Did the network reset help at all and is all resolved please?

Thanks,

Tyler

Hi,

No it hasn't worked.

Any other suggestions please?

Thank you

I'm having the same problem xxxx

Hey there @Jen Brotheridge & @Katey Mcmaster sorry to hear that!

Please try the following depending on which device you guys have:

For iPhone:

1) Turn off iMessage (Settings > Messages)
2) Restart your phone (by pressing and holding the on/off button)
3) Tap Settings > Phone > My Number and confirm that it is correct.
4) If it is not correct, please enter the correct number
5) Turn iMessage back to On (Settings > Messages)
6) Finally, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and see if the correct number is displayed under "Start new conversations from:"

If you are having issues with step 4 please reset network settings and try again.

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset rDevice] > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

For Android/Samsung:

1) Open Messages, go to Settings (top right, Message Settings), open "Chat Features" or "RCS Chats", verify if this is the correct number or not.

2) If it shows the incorrect one, then head to: https://messages.google.com/disable-chat and you should be able to unregister the number. Once done, turn off the Chat Features/RCS and the phone. Wait a few minutes and turn the device back on and re-enable Chat Features/RCS it should let you re-register/update to the correct number.

Alternatively, you can turn Chat Features/RCS off and test SMS after this.

Please try these and let us know how you get on.

Thanks,

Tyler

Thanks for the above. I've been able to turn off the rcs chat feature but the menu options were different to the above and rcs itself wasn't mentioned at all. There was no option to check the number in the menu and when I went into the link to disable it I never received a code to confirm it. I've not been able to turn rcs chats back on because of this but that's not the end of the world. The main thing is that I'm now texting one number and one number is texting back. Thank you for your help.

Hi @Jen Brotheridge

Glad to hear that’s helped.
