Phone isn't charging properly

Slow to charge on wireless charger (my s21 charges twice as fast on my home one and car one than this phone), and the USB C charging has stopped working.

Unsure why, only ever used a branded Samsung charger. Quite frustrating. How would I go about getting this looked at?

I got the phone through the ID mobile website in April 24'.

Thanks.

Hey there @Bturnbull, if your new phone with us is having issues or is faulty, please take it to a Currys store to have it looked into as a potential free repair, or contact the phone manufacturer.

Thanks,

Tyler

@Bturnbull  welcome to the community for a start wireless charging take much longer to charge a device to actual having a physical cable plugged into the device and mains charger. Also you need the right type of cable, cable are not made equally they may appear the same but are not so. Without get to technology there's different charging methods and different cable types along with different charger types.

First I test your charger and phone with a known work cable or buy a genuine Samsung cable. If this seems to fix the problem you now know it was a cable issue.

You may even have a faulty main charger once again test with a know mains charger of the same type and rating your charger should be a Samsung Fast Charger or a Samsung Super Fast charger, the super fast charger will or should charge your device at a must fast rate over the fast charging. You need a Watt rating of minimum 25W to 45W Samsung charger.

Before you do any of these power off your phone and look at the USB-C socket get a toothpick to pluck out any fluff that may be sitting in the charging port, you'll be surprised the amount of much that sometimes can lay there cause bad contact with the cable.

If after carrying out the above step and still a problem turn of your device and charge bthe phone while it powered off.

Hi Joe,

Trust me I've tried all of those things. The issue seems to lie with the handset itself.

@Bturnbull  OK as this is an old model you could take it into a Samsung service centre and get it tested and pay for parts and labour or take it to a mobile phone repair shop for them to test and repair your device.

Having said all the previous things to look out for it may well be your battery failing. Part are widely available it's a difficult one to call without actually having the device to test.

Hi guys, thank you for the help.

Let me clarify. My new phone has the charging issues, through ID, my old Samsung charges fine using the same chargers, wired or wireless.
