I’ve ordered a SIM card to cancel my expensive contract (now I’m coming to the end) and put the sim in my phone. However I want to port my number from the contract to the sim only deal. How do i do that?

Welcome to the Community!
Unfortunately internal number ports are not possible with iD Mobile.
You can look at porting out the old number to a different network on pay as you go.
Once the number is with the new network you can request a PAC code from them and move the number back to the new iD Mobile contract.
