purchased new phone, can I just swap my SIM to new phone. I know I have to still pay my ID contract as I am not due for a upgrade yet but want to use the new phone until my contract expires

When you say during the transfer, what do you mean?

You should, if the phone is unlocked, work by simply taking the SIM out of your old phone and putting it in the new phone. The only caveat might be you need a replacement SIM (not a new contract, just a new SIM) so it works correctly in you GP8 Pro.

So with that in mind I’d try the card in the new phone, maybe restart it once and see if it works. If it doesn’t put that card back in the old phone and let us know.

For reference the GP 7 and GP 8 Pro are both on iD’s approved handsets page, so as long as the GP Pro 8  is unlocked it should work.

Hi there @Pam March

If your new phone is a UK model* and is unlocked to all networks, then yes simply move your SIM to that phone.

iD don’t actually care what phone you use, they just provide a phone service - with or without one of their phones.

*there has been an increase in phones being sold unlocked to all networks on certain websites that transpire to not be UK models.

Hi @Pam March

Welcome and thanks for posting.

Can you please confirm which handset you are using?

Thanks,
