Running two SIMS at the same time

Forum|alt.badge.img

I had a contract with 3 and a French eSIM with Lyca and could use both SIMs at the same time.  So when I am abroad, I can use the French eSIM for data but also have the 3 SIM turned on for phone calls to my normal number.

I have just changed to ID Mobile and I can only seem to switch between the two, and can’t have both switched on at the same time. If I toggle one on, the other goes off. So when I’m in France and using the French SIM, I can’t receive phone calls.

Does anyone know how to get over this?

TIA

Maria

Some phones are dual-SIM, but only one physical SIM and one eSIM can be active simultaneously in dual-SIM mode.

Aha. You’re right. I have an iPhone 12 and I’ve just looked it up. It will run a physical SIM and an eSIM at the same time but not two eSIMs. I’ll have to see if I can get one of the eSIMs replaced with a physical one. THANK YOU!

So the French Lyca SIM was a eSIM. So was the 3 SIM a physical SIM?

What type of SIM is the iD SIM now that your using with the French Lyca eSIM?

What make and model phone are you using?

Hey there @MariaSnail, thank you for reaching out.

As asked by @andewhite and @MZone, what make and model phone are you using please/

Also, which SIMs are physical, and which are eSIM?

Thanks,

Tyler

Hi Tyler, I have an iPhone 12. My previous SIM was a physical one and the Lyca and ID Mobile and eSIM. As @andewhite indicated, iPhone 12s don’t support two eSIMs, which explains why it worked before and now it doesn’t.
