I have some strange activity on phone with battery,  Data & WiFi usage

1: Extremely high usage

2: APPs that should be disabled still bleeding me dry

3: Battery drains fast & extremely slow to replenish

4: Work accounts, Captive portal, many Overlays, Random DNS

5: WiFi connects to Data, even when all disabled and many miles from home

6: In Data, I add name and it then applies the last 4* digits of my phone number (E.G. IssuesForMe 2884) and I can't remove the 2884.  Google tells me this is some config setup to do with WiFi / Network accounts... 

 

I am lost with all this but someone is at it and resetting phone daily etc.  losing photos etc.  could be flatmate as WiFi etc all in open space 

 

Any help appreciated

With so many issues, I would factory reset the device and set it back up from new.

Tried several times but same issues reboot with phone.  This makes me think it's either a second SIM, corrupt wifi or a Google account issue. Not one is easy to get an answer for as each companies pretty anti-customer facing.

I have as my main device à Nothing Phone 2 been using it nonstop for 18 months with all the latest OS updates plus I use it as a hotspot for my other devices. It's clearly something going on in the background with your device. Without going into details you can deny access to the Internet by not allowing apps to connect. Also you inter browser there are many site's that generate pop up which can be a pain in the butt as you can be clicking away just to close them down.

Check your apps and only allow those which you want to connect to the net and then monitor your device and see how it now behaves.

1: Extremely high usage

Have you checked for apps still running in background? 

 

2: APPs that should be disabled still bleeding me dry

When you say the apps are disabled, are these apps that you still currently use or have you attempted to delete them?

 

3: Battery drains fast & extremely slow to replenish

If apps are running in the background this will cause your battery to drain quicker. 

Please also ensure all software is up to date. 

 

4: Work accounts, Captive portal, many Overlays, Random DNS

Could you please expand on this issue?

 

5: WiFi connects to Data, even when all disabled and many miles from home

Can you please expand on this? Is the WiFi disconnecting causing you to use data?
