SIM is not allowed

I have updated a Galaxy A53 to a A55 at the earliest date possible. My Wife has an old Galaxy J5 (2016), which is on an ID SIM only deal. I returned my A53 to factory defaults and transferred the data etc across to the A53 OK. When I add the SIM  it comes up with a SIM not allowed message . Could this be due to the fact that the A53 has not come to the end of contract yet?

Hi @Silverfox82

Our devices are unlocked and you’d be able to put any SIM card in the device at any time, there wouldn’t be anything on our side stopping you from putting another iD Mobile SIM only plan into it.

Is it being used in SIM slot 1?

It may be worth trying a replacement SIM card, which can be picked up from any Currys store and activated here.

Thanks for the response but I have just sorted it. ID Mobile were no help but I turned the Sim card through 90 degrees and used SIM2 position which I did not realise was an option originally.

Hey there @Silverfox82, we’re glad to hear all is sorted.

Thanks,

Tyler
