SMS Texts Not Sending

Over the past couple days my phone has been unable to send texts. Instantly the failed to send issue pops up. However I am still able to receive texts, use and receive calls and my mobile data works. I haven’t changed any settings on my phone or ID account. My phone hasn’t been damaged either.

    Hi @ccairns

Are you trying to send an MMS text (containing pictures, photos, emojis, GIFs, videos and sound clips.) and not SMS??
You will be charged to send an MMS text:-
    https://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-advice/call-charges

If you wish to send MMS messages then you also need to ensure that your bill cap is set higher than your monthly plan £ to cover them.
If you were able to send MMS messages previously then you may have hit your cap limit and now they won’t be sent until it is increased to cover the cost.

Here are 2 help pages with regards to Bill Capping:-

    Hope this helps x

    Hi

same issue; last few weeks, sms text messages are received but not sending.

    Not iMessage

    Not MMS message.

immediately that I send an SMS message (including replying to an SMS), I get told ‘message not sent’.

    iMessage works fine

    calls work fine

    data not an issue

I’m supposed to have unlimited text messages

no help therefore in this thread, except people with the same issue get sent a mysterious text message from ID support.

iPhone 14+, recently ported to ID from O2

    thanks,

    Hi @Brinorts.

    Thank you for your post. I am sorry to learn you are experiencing this. Since you recently did a number transfer, can you please follow the steps below to do a network reset;

    Go to Settings.
    Tap Phone.
    Tap My Number.
Use the delete button to remove the old number.
Use the keypad to enter the new number.
    Tap Save.
    1. Go to Settings
    2. Messages
    3. Turn off iMessage.
    4. Go to General
    5. Reset
    6. Reset Network Settings.
    7. Once the iPhone is open.
    8. Go to Settings
    9. Messages Turn ON iMessage.
10.This will recognize the new sim and have it verified.

Please let me know what you experience once you have done this.
