Switched to ID mobile, can make calls but cant receive them

Hi

Tried to talk to the online chat earlier but took 30 mins of exchanging messages and made no progress (other than being asked if I had put the sim in the phone !).

Moved to ID Mobile and had old number ported over.  This happenend on Tuesday but it hasnt worked properly.  My phone registers as my old number and I can dial out and send text messages etc but no-one can call me or send me anything.  If you try and call my number it says ‘number not recognised’ or ‘not in service’.

Anyone had this and got any idea what to do ?  Phone is a Pixel 7, have done what ID Mobile online chat have said (check number in personal info, check SIM card has been put into phone).

Will try them again tomorrow - at the moment paying for a service that doesnt work.

Thanks

    Hi @rich.gentle

Sorry to hear that you are facing the same issue.

Can you please confirm the make and model of your phone so we can try some troubleshooting steps.

    Hi @rich.gentle,

Thanks for confirming, Please could you try the below steps and let us know if that helps to resolve the issue.

    For iPhone:

    • Go to Settings
    • Tap Phone
    • Tap My Number
    • Delete the old number
    • Enter the new number
    • Tap Save

Then follow these steps to refresh iMessage:

    1. Go to Settings
    2. Tap Messages
    3. Turn iMessage OFF
    4. Go to Settings > General
    5. Tap Reset
    6. Choose Reset Network Settings
    7. Once your iPhone restarts, go back to Settings
    8. Tap Messages
    9. Turn iMessage ON again

Your iPhone should now recognise the new SIM and verify your number.

    Regards,

    Hi

Ive been having the exact same issue since i got my contract a few months ago. Went through all the troubleshooting with online chat for hours with no progress and in the end they said i needed a replacement sim.  Got the replacement sim, exactly the same thing happened - can make calls without any problem, but when anyone calls me it says “number not recognised”.  Couldn’t be bothered with the online chat again, but came across this thread.

Could someone help please?  I’d love to avoid having to go back to the online chat.

    Thanks

    John
