I’ve had my new phone for a month. I don’t have a normal SIM, just an eSIM. Is it normal that, whenever I power my phone on, do I get a message that says
“Tap to update SIM info. This will check for new and removed SIMs. eSIM 1 will disconnect for a few seconds while your SIMs are updated”.
I believe this happens on android phones (Samsung?) when using two SIMS/eSIMS.
Thanks Paul. It is a Samsung phone (S25 Ultra) but this is the only SIM I have (it came with the phone when I bought it). I’ve never had an eSIM before so wasn’t sure. It’s really annoying and surely it can’t be normal. It may be that I’ve got a bad eSIM?
I had this when I had a Samsung, but only when I had a physical SIM inserted in the phone and an active eSIM. Two lines basically! It didn’t happen when I had just a physical SIM. I cannot confirm if this is normal if you have just an eSIM installed, simply because I never had just a single eSIM installed on my Samsung. It might be normal!
Try asking over on the Samsung community forums, link below:

Thank you Paul
I just tested it with a Samsung S21 Plus and I can confirm it’s normal. My S21 Plus does exactly the same thing.
Thanks again Paul. It’s annoying so I guess I’ll just have to get a normal SIM. All the best.
