Hi. My texts aren’t sending? I’ve done everything it says on the community page, and also removed the sim etc but still not working.

Hi @Brett Clifton

Welcome and thanks for posting.

We are sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with text messages.

Can you please confirm the steps you have taken and also what handset are you currently using?

Thanks,

Hi. I followed these steps:

  • Check your number: Go to Settings > Phone > My Number and confirm that your number is correct. If it's not, enter the correct number.
  • Restart your phone: Restart your phone by pressing and holding the on/off button.
  • Turn iMessage off and on: Go to Settings > Messages and turn off iMessage. Restart your phone, then turn iMessage back on.
  • Check your network connection: You need a cellular data or Wi-Fi connection to send a message as iMessage, RCS, or MMS. To send an SMS message, you need a cellular network connection.
  • Check your payments: Make sure your payments are up to date.
  • Reset your network: Try resetting your network on your iPhone.
  • Check your storage: Make sure you have enough storage space on your device.

I have an Iphone 15.

Hi @Brett Clifton

What happens when you try to send a text?

How are calls and data?

Tom

If it is a new text, it will not send (red exclamation mark etc). If I am replying to a text I have received its fine. Calls are also fine.

Hi @Brett Clifton

I’d recommend the following;

1) Turn off iMessage (Settings > Messages)
2) Restart your phone (by pressing and holding the on/off button)
3) Tap Settings > Phone > My Number and confirm that it is correct.
4) If it is not correct, please enter the correct number
5) Turn iMessage back to On (Settings > Messages)
6) Finally, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and see if the correct number is displayed under "Start new conversations from:"

If you are having issues with step 4 please reset network settings and try again.

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
