Hello,
I have been having this issue for a very long time. It all started with me trying to send some normal SMS to anyone (by anyone I mean normal people or short numbers to activate some services for myself), and I always get that the message is not delivered, so I went over to my carrier and after several calls nothing was solved, I went over to my Iphone 12 pro settings to check on imessage settings and it kept saying that it is verifying and loading forever and tried every solution there on the internet nothing was solved. Then after checking my signin and security page on my phone I found out that the number says that it is (Unavailable for iMessage and FaceTime). 

Please if you know how to solve this issue let me know

I would advise that you check the link below as they will hopefully resolve your issue.

Can you try the following;

1) Try turning off iMessage (Settings > Messages)
2) then restart your phone (by pressing and holding the on/off button)
3) tap Settings > Phone > My Number and confirm that it is correct.
4) If it is not correct, please enter the correct number)
5) then turn iMessage back to On (Settings > Messages)
6) go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and see if the correct number is displayed under “Start new conversations from:"
