WiFi calling not working, but enabled

My phone’s Wi-Fi calling is enabled but it doesn’t seem to be working. I can’t make any calls while connected to Wi-Fi even though there’s a signal.

I have any eSIM that operates on an iPhone 16 Pro Max running iOS 26.4

Hello, I’m having this issue also. I’ve followed the suggested steps and am still unable to make wifi calls. I live in an area with no signal so it’s really important I’m able to make calls over wifi. Thanks

Same as Alice and the others above - this issue began on Friday - I have been using wifi calling up until then with no issues. Wifi calling is essential for me. using oneplus nord 4, oxygen)S 16.0.5

There is a continual issue with this. I live remotely and rely on Wifi calling for work and personal as well.

I can actually have signal outside as well as be indoors with full wifi bars ...and the phone still won’t work...(iphone 15) all running latest IOS - 26.3.1(a), network reset, airplane mode used - cuts call off, full wifi signal, no VPNs and Broadband working fine...i’m on the internet as i type this on the same broadband so its not that. The only time it seems to work is if i’m in a big city - so can only assume its down to the network and coverage.

There doesn’t seem to be any work around i’m afraid. I have been dealing with this for a year or so. It appears to do with Apple updates and ID Mobiles network incompatibility. Neither will take responsibility which doesn’t help anyone.

On the plus side, the phone stops papers blowing away.

Hi @Oneminimalman.

Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed explanation. I’m really sorry to hear that you’ve been experiencing ongoing issues with your service. I completely understand how frustrating this must be, especially as you rely on WiFi Calling for both work and personal use.

To help rule out any device or network configuration issues, could you please try a network reset using the steps below for your device type:

For iPhone:

Go to Settings
Tap Phone
Tap My Number
Delete the existing number and re-enter it
Tap Save
Go to Settings > Messages and turn iMessage OFF
Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone
Tap Reset > Reset Network Settings
Once completed, restart your device
Then go back to Messages and turn iMessage back ON so it re-verifies your SIM

For Android:

Open Settings
Tap General management
Tap Reset
Tap Reset network settings

Once this has been completed, please test your WiFi Calling again.

If the issue continues after completing these steps, please contact us directly so we can escalate this to our Technical Team for further investigation: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat.

Thanks,

Marquerita

Hi @CMJT,

I am so sorry to hear of your ongoing issues with your WiFi calling.

  • Check your phone is fully up to date
  • Try a different WiFi network if you can
  • Make sure your phone is set to 4G or 5G, not 2G/3G
  • If possible, try your SIM in another phone to see if it works there

If it’s still not working, please let us know so that we can further investigate.

Regards,

Hi Gemma. I’m sorry to say it simply doesn’t work. I do not have another phone to try and my Wife’s phone is locked to a particular provider.

On the other solutions “Tap Reset > Reset Network Settings” does not exist in the latest IOS - only have the option to erase all content, “Reset” or Prepare for a new iPhone. No-one of which I’m prepared to risk until I hear back from ID mobile.

It is a shame the service from ID is so poor :-( So many people appear to have lost WiFi calling...

Hi @CMJT,

Thanks for sharing, however all iPhones as well as the latest iOS come with these steps:

Step 1: Go to ‘Settings’

Step 2: Click ‘General’

Step 3: Scroll to the bottom, and then click ‘Transfer or Reset iPhone’

Step 4: Click ‘Reset’

Step 5: Click ‘Reset Network Settings’

Step 6: Click ‘Reset Network Settings’ (Please note that all saved APN, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections and passwords you’ve created will be deleted).

Thereafter, you can follow the onscreen steps to complete the process.
