4G Calling (also known as voice over LTE or VoLTE) is a service that is available on all iD Mobile plans.

The benefits of using 4G Calling include:

  • Improved coverage
4G smashes through indoor blackspots, so you'll be able to make phone calls in more places
  • Superior call quality
Calls are clearer than a typical mobile phone call; you'll notice a real improvement in voice quality
  • Faster connectivity
4G calls can connect up to twice as fast as traditional methods

How do I know if I’m making a 4G call?

Look for the 4G or LTE icon on the tp of your screen when you’re on a call. If it shows as 4G or LTE, you’re making a 4G Call.

What’s the difference between 4G Calling and VoLTE

There's no difference – it's the same thing. At iD Mobile, we think that '4G Calling' gives you a better idea of what it's all about.

Does 4G Calling cost more than a standard call?

No, 4G calls come out of your standard allowances. Should you run out of minutes, you’ll be charged at the standard out-of-plan rate.
