Happiest moment for me was flying over The Grand Canyon. It's always been on my bucket list to visit but while I was there, I decided to splash out and buy a ticket for the tiniest plane I've ever been on. It was a fantastic experience, seeing the vastness and the beauty of our planet. I also took a trip in a driverless car in San Francisco! That was quite an experience too 😄

Welcoming our baby daughter into the world, in dramatic fashion, a handful from day dot. 0-100 real quick that morning, no action to born on the bathroom floor between myself (dad) and two ambulance crews all in a whirlwind 22mins, mum did us all proud and lil miss G is perfect!

After getting vascular neuropathy, I was unable to walk, I then spent two months in hospital, once the pain was managed with drugs, there was little else the doctor could do. I was sent to a rehabilitation nursing home. The staff there helped me move from a wheelchair to a walking frame. I was not allowed to move unless a member of staff was with me. However I shut the door of my room and stood up and just walked the length of the room unaided, it was the moment I knew I could do it,   I would get better and walk again like other people.

My proudest achievement in 2025 was challenging myself to grow in ways that really mattered to me. I started running more regularly, which pushed me physically and mentally, and at the same time, I spent time helping people with rehab, supporting them as they worked to get stronger. Through it all, I learned a lot about my own limits, my patience, and what I’m capable of. Looking back, I’m proud of the balance I found between taking care of myself and helping others.

My proudest moment of 2025 was watching my sausage dog Hershey overcome IVDD. There was a time this year when she couldn’t walk at all, and every day felt heavy with uncertainty and fear. Through patience, care, and sheer determination, she slowly found her strength again. Helping her go from immobile to confidently heading back out on walks beside me has been incredibly emotional and deeply rewarding. Each step she takes now is a reminder of her resilience and the quiet strength it took for both of us to get through it, making this journey the moment I will always hold closest to my heart.

My proudest achievement of 2025 was settling up our village Sunday football side despite the initial lack of general interest in the summer. I went the extra hog and ramped up posts on Facebook, handed out leaflets, and now we are competing in the local Sunday league.
