The Cité de Science, in Paris! Walked past it by accident on the way back from St Denis, saw a huge shiny geodesic dome, thought “what’s that?!” and ended up spending 2.5 days there. And because it’s aimed at French kids, our limited French wasn’t a problem

Siquijor. An island in the philippines with some amazing folk lore, mysticism and incredible scenery! To this day, the best hidden gem I’ve ever discovered. What a beautiful place, full of incredible people, mountains, beaches and an intriguing mystical history! 👀

Italian Pasta making wine tasting  15 minuets from Rome. A short train ride from Rome station to Frascatti know as the balcony of Rome due to the amazing views. Frascatti pasta making will collect you from the train station and show you the village and history whilst walking to the restaurant/ wine cellars. Excellent activity and price!

Best hidden gem is to look what is on your doorstep - visit your surrounding towns, have those exotic sandwiches from the local coffee shop with a slice of homemade cake. Indulge in something new from that place you've long admired. Stay cations can be equally fun if you indulge a little and give something new a go.

I am torn. Hidden gems for me is either straying slightly off the tourist part of a beach in Yorkshire and finding a huge cave. Or I think Neath waterfall and other waterfalls in Wales are a hidden gem as they are very underappreciated for such beauty on our UK doorstep.

Put your phone inside the sun hat to shield from sun. It stops it overheating and can see the screen on the sunlounger

The best hidden gem I’ve ever discovered was a tiny, family-run beach resort on the Gulf of Thailand. There were no crowds, no beach clubs, and barely another person in sight—just swaying palms, the sound of the waves, and the most incredible sunsets. It wasn’t somewhere I’d seen on Instagram or in a guidebook; it was the kind of place you stumble across by chance and never want to leave. It reminded me that the best travel memories often come from the places no one is talking about yet.

Dominica is a hidden gem in the Caribbean (not to be confused with Dominican Republic). A gorgeous mountainous island covered in lush rainforests and hot springs. It’s the most beautiful place I’ve been to  and the least touristy out of all the Caribbean islands.

My favourite hidden gem was a quiet, dog-friendly beach on the Cardigan Bay coast that we discovered after following a little footpath away from the crowds. Watching our three dogs race across the sand while we soaked up the stunning scenery made it feel like we’d uncovered a secret. Those unexpected discoveries always become our favourite holiday memories, they’re far more rewarding than ticking off the busiest tourist hotspots and the west coast of Wales in a summer like 2026 is world class

Best hidden gem was in New York.  We walked across Brooklyn bridge and  found a food market. So many different kinds of food from all over the world. Our favourite was a proper smoked bbq stand. The brisket beef just melted in you mouth. And the pulled pork and spicey sausages were just as good. They also sold the most amazing macaroni cheese pie.

On our recent holiday to Italy we walked a beautiful path called the Greenway del largo Di como, the path took us up to breathtaking views of the lakes and hills and continued to wind through much needed shady towns with water fountains to chill hour hands and quench your thirst, old churches and beautiful villas and of course always a vista of the lake kept us going for the couple of hours we walked, that experience will always be a hidden gem ❤️

The best hidden gem I've ever found is a place called Atlas Kasbah in Agadir. It's the most beautiful ecolodge with amazing staff and owners. It's like an oasis in the desert, so magical.

It’s not really hidden but in NYC go to the top of the rock (rockerfeller centre) for stunning views. You HAVE to do empire state but the view from the rock, including of the empire state itself is fab

Oh and there’s an amazing place to stay in LA called the Hollywood B&b - not far from Hollywood boulevard, has its own little pool and is owned by artists. Just a fab crazy little place to stay to get you in the mood for the bonkers place that LA is!

Victoria Tunnel in Newcastle UK. The volunteers who work there make the tour fun and interesting. They show evidence of the multi uses of the tunnel.over time and also the tragic events that have happened there.

One thing I always do before a trip is make a Google Maps list and save pins for places I want to visit: food, coffee, viewpoints, breweries, hidden gems etc. Makes it so much easier when you’re out and about because you can just see what’s nearby instead of wasting time trying to decide where to go.

Jersey beaches and surf shacks  , less than an hour on a plane and the most beautiful beaches on a par with Cornwall but easier to get to.

hiring a car is a must and it’s so easy to drive round the island stopping off when you spy another lovely view.

I was using two networks in 2024 , ID and EE , EE started over charging me while visiting Ireland , I ended up with a £ 400 bill for incorrect charges . During this time ID quietly covered all my holiday calls and data during the 2 week holiday with no extra charges to worry about . Absolute peace of mind while being away . No prizes for guessing which network I sacked .!

The "interesting characters" tour in Durham UK. It's run by 1 guy who went y

to university there and decided to stay as he loved it so much. He takes you to various sites across the city that aren't on a normal tour and tells you about some of the "interesting" people who have lived there and what they got up to. He was funny and told the stories in a most interesting way. I earned 2 stickers.... you gave to do the tour to know why!
