The best hidden gem I’ve discovered on holiday is this Restaurant/hotel on top of a tall hill in nepal in Dharan. The name of the place evades me but I think its a christian owned establishment and its interior is identifiable by its while flooring and a large sea shell statue on the opposite side of the road from the entrance. It had a very nice atmosphere and the food was very good for it being a western style menu. The drinks were better than most of the places I had in europe.

The best holiday I ever had was to Scotland where we just got in the car and drove, no plans, nothing booked. We ended up on the Isles of Arron, Kinryre then up to Oban. With no planes or trains to catch it was so relaxing and we managed to find accommodation easily. Although on Arron it was single beds and it was our honeymoon 😂

The best hidden gems are hidden - they're not signposted. Look on a map to find a small cove or beach that only the locals go to, or ask the staff to make a recommendation. For me it's the best diving spots, like a wall dive with huge canyon in Cozumel!

Zadar in Croatia has to be my best hidden gem. This spot has a bit of everything. Stunning beaches for the day, and a beautiful historic old town packed with quality restaurants for evenings. Airport is only 20 minutes from the town centre, so no long transfers. Even better - my ID roaming let's me use my phone at no extra cost when I'm there.

Various old historic ruins and beauty spots in the West of Ireland, often not well signposted or publicised.

The best hidden gem I discovered on holiday was Štrbački Buk Waterfall in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It's such a beautiful place with crystal-clear water and amazing scenery, but it isn't as crowded as many famous tourist spots. It felt really peaceful and was one of the highlights of my trip.

To be honest, I think Bosnia and Herzegovina as a whole is a hidden gem. It has stunning nature, friendly people, charming towns, and incredible places that many travellers still don't know about. If you're looking for somewhere different and authentic, it's definitely worth visiting.

My favourite hidden gem has to be Mały Staw in the Karkonosze Mountains, Poland. It's a stunning glacial lake surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery, but because most people head straight for Śnieżka, not many visitors stop there. That makes it wonderfully quiet and peaceful – the perfect place to sit, enjoy the views, and soak up the tranquillity after a hike. It's one of those places I'll never forget.

Discovering a tiny family-run taverna tucked away down a quiet side street in Greece. No tourist crowds, just incredible homemade food, the friendliest locals, and a sunset I’ll never forget!

Best hidden gem for us was a camping trip and discovered a lovely place called thornwick Bay.  Kids could explore the caves surrounding the sea, which was clear and free of pollution

I've been to a little gem called Balmaha in Scotland. It's like being in a different country with all It's little beaches and islands that you can get to by boat. If anyone has dogs I would highly recommend for the nature trails alone.

I hated it when going on holiday in the UK was called a staycation. We holiday in the UK all the time, this year we went north to combat the heat as we are all fair skinned. Great Britain is great for holidays.

One of the best hidden gems I’ve ever discovered on holiday in Pefkos was a small, quiet cove tucked away from the main tourist spots. It had crystal-clear water, hardly any crowds, and a local taverna serving amazing fresh Greek salads and ice cold Mythos beer. It felt like paradise and ended up being the highlight of the trip.

A small family restaurant on the back streets of Rome. Son was waiter and Mother cooked. There was a menu but virtually all items were unavailable instead the waiter recited what Mamma was cooking that day usually a choice of two or three things and they were without fail great dishes, by far the best Italian food we have enjoyed.

A fab restaurant in the old town Kotor, Montenegro. Lovely location in a courtyard that opens up from a narrow street. Beautiful food, amazing staff and lovely location. Scala Santa. Great position to watch the world go by.

Hidden gems are often found on boat tours from your resort. Seeing caves and coves you wouldn't see otherwise. I swam up into a cave in Zante, it was incredible. Inside was a small sandy bank with stunning views looking up at the inner parts of the cave. The Mediterranean sea was lapping around my feet. A real Hidden gem!

One of the best hidden gems I've ever discovered was a tiny family-run café tucked away down a quiet side street. There were no crowds, no big signs, just fantastic homemade food, friendly locals and a view that made you want to stay all afternoon. It ended up being one of those unexpected holiday moments that I remember far more vividly than some of the famous tourist attractions.

Not one in particualr but mulipe hidden gems can always be found two or streets away from any main tourist area.  The prices are always cheaper, the atmosphere & hospitality is ten times better, and the food is autentic.

We took an alternative route while travelling in Devon. We travelled the B322 and found Warren House Inn, a lovely place near Bennett’s cross. We had a lovely tea accompanied by wild ponies.
