After a hour long jungle hike in the middle of the Perhentian Islands in Malaysia, a collection of two extremely remote islands far from the mainlaind, you'll find Adam and Eve Beach. It's a completely secluded beach where clear blue waters, baby sharks, turtles and a single lone beach swing stands isolated hundreds of miles away from the stresses of life.

One of the best hidden gems we've ever stumbled across wasn't a famous attraction at all. It was a quiet spot overlooking the sea in Cornwall, where we all sat together one evening and watched the sun slowly disappear below the horizon. After busy days exploring, it gave the kids a chance to slow down, chat, laugh, and simply enjoy being together. No queues, no screens, no rush, just incredible views, the sound of the waves, and a sunset we'll all remember for a long time. Sometimes the places you never planned to find become the most special gems..

Not me personally, but a family member told me the best way to find a hidden gem is walking away from a crowd! They found some lovely quiet cafes in Amsterdam by doing this ☺️

Walk away from the tourist areas, even just a few streets back to discover the best places to eat

Take a drinks holder so you can go to the bar and grab at least 6 drinks at once. Keeps the whole party happy and leaves more time for sunbathing!

The best hidden gem location was Napflio in Greece.  Full of history, scenic marina and beautiful beaches and cliff side walks as well as a historic town and a cliff top fortress.  Bourtzi Castle is on a little island that you can get a boat to which was a fun trip and exciting to explore the castle. It was a great location for everyone in our group as had a bit of everything all in one place.  Would definitely recommend.

Cala Esmeralda is widely named the best hidden gem within Cala d’Or itself. Tucked between pine-covered rocky cliffs, it’s smaller and quieter than busy central coves like Cala Gran, famous for striking emerald-green crystal clear water that’s calm and shallow for swimming and excellent for snorkelling over rocky seabeds teeming with small fish. It has soft pale sand, natural shade from trees, limited facilities so it avoids the busiest commercial development, yet it’s only a short walk from the town centre and marina.

Always speak to the locals about good spots to visit - not the usual tourist areas, but those off the beaten track. That's where you'll find the REAL hidden gems

Any hidden gem on holiday has always been food related, twice in barcalona I've discussed a back alley restaurant which has blown me away

Best hidden gem on holiday??? The lakes, the mountains, the people, the food. Too many to mention but is anything truly a hidden gem anymore.

My gems weren't hidden but the island of mull is the most stunning place I've ever had the privilege to see

On a trip to Paris, I wandered into an unassuming little restaurant with just a handful of tables. A friendly man greeted me at the door, took my order, then disappeared into the back. A few minutes later he reappeared with drinks, vanished again, then returned with another table’s food, before disappearing once more.

It took me embarrassingly long to realise he wasn’t nipping to the kitchen. He WAS the kitchen. He was the only member of staff, greeting guests, taking orders, cooking every meal, serving every table and somehow keeping everything running seamlessly.

The food was extraordinary, but watching one person effortlessly do the work of an entire restaurant made it the most unforgettable hidden gem I’ve ever discovered.

Ibiza very early in the morning is so peaceful, the sun is still rising in the sky and all the party animals are still in bed nursing their hangovers

In Istanbul the underground water system basilica cistern is stunning and definitely worth a visit. -In one corner are two mysterious Medusa heads used as column bases.

If visiting Croatia take a day trip to Mostar and the Kravica waterfalls. It was a little slice of paradise ❤️

Really great tips thank you!
One of my favourite hidden gems was Albania earlier this year. My tip is to fly into Corfu and get the 50minute ferry over to Sarrande - save yourself a 5 hour bus ride and visit 2 countries all in one trip!

Went to Sicily last year and their local boat tour guides are far more accommodating than ones found online. One of those included an entirely transparent boat, which was a completely magical experience - got the chance to take a swim and visit the caves with turquoise water.

I would say the best hidden gem I've discovered on holiday was a secluded beach in Greece that you could only reach by hiking for about 30 minutes. We had crystal-clear water almost entirely to ourselves—it felt like we'd found a secret! 🏖
