With the weather getting consistently hotter, the days already longer (read about that here) and our restrictions easing even more the options for leaving the house are widening.

A lot of us have been so used to being on Wi-Fi during lockdown we’ve not been taking full advantage of our mobile data plans, we thought we’d remind you about some of the great apps and services available to stream content! Whether you are on a long car journey, in a field or enjoying the sun from the garden there’s something for everyone!

Just a reminder; you can always stay on top of your data allowances through the iD Mobile App so you don’t run out of data, you can also change your price plan to give you more allowances should you need to and even add data bundles! If you haven’t done already download the iD Mobile app to your device and head here to find out more.

Sports!

With most sporting leagues being postponed earlier in the year there is a lot of catching up to do now most leagues are back on the pitch. You can find new and old games live on BBC iPlayer, iTV Hub and even Amazon Prime are providing free access to some sporting games!

Movies!

Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+ are absolutely loaded with hundreds and hundreds of movies covering every genre! We won’t tell you why you need these as the chances are you already have them, what we will share though is some guidance on typically how much data these apps consume if you use them out of the house.

If one hour of content streamed on Netflix uses roughly 1GB for every hour, your average 90 minute movie will use around 1.5GB! Remember to always check your allowances through the iD Mobile App

Virtual Events

We may not be able to go to Glastonbury, take part in a Pride march or visit Comic Con but through the wonder of the internet we can still go visit a local park, meet up with our social bubbles and stream the events through our devices! Read more about virtual events here

Have we missed any other ways to stream content to your phone while you are out and about? Let us know in the comments below what you use to stream and what you are looking forward to streaming first!
