Clean often, save on the big cleans.

I love Bartender’s friend for cleaning not only stainless steel but any stains on solid surfaces which are difficult to shift.

Dissolve a dishwasher tablet in 1 litre of warm water and you can easily remove limescale, including on stainless steel sinks, around the edge of the bathtub, and even the yellow limescale in the toilet trap (pour it in before going to work or before bed, then just flush when you get home or wake up).

Add lemon or vinegar to clean most things

I don’t make much of a mess.

BUT I find that white spirit dissolves most ‘sticky’ stuff on glass or plastics...

Use shampoo and go from the bottom up on cars to prevent streaking. Always rince wash off by rinsing from the top down. In the house a few drops of no tears shampoo on windows also doesn't streak.

Cheap cheerful and safe Denture Tablets are powerful, affordable cleaning agents for many household items due to their effervescent, anti-bacterial formula. Best hacks include:

removing stubborn tea and coffee stains from teaspoons, mugs, worktops, deep cleaning vases and thermos bottles, brightening stained grout, cleaning toilet bowls (drop 3-4 tablets and soak); plus a dazzling clean for your jewellery. Oh! And they’re great for false teeth!

Best cleaning hack

Find someone with OCD and invite them round for coffee

They'll eventually start cleaning for you. 😉😉

My best cleaning hack is doing a little bit every day instead of leaving everything for one big clean. It saves time, reduces stress, and keeps everything feeling fresh! 😊

A few simple tips I swear by:

• Go for a short walk or run – it clears your mind and gives you a fresh start

• If you spill something while eating out, sprinkle a bit of salt on the stain – it really helps!

• If you screenshot something and you’re done with it, delete it straight away – don’t let them pile up

Little habits make a big difference!

white vinegar and baking soda combined for all stubborn stains and to keep mirrors, shower screens and windows sparkling and helps prevent future misting up.

I use my battery leaf blower to clean behind radiators, my assistant holds the hoover nozzle at the bottomto capture the dust blown out.  I have two long haired cats that shed fur in vast amounts and the blower gets the dust and hair out in seconds.

What is your absolute best cleaning tip or hack? 🫧

I swear by Elbow Grease. It cuts through everything. Spray and leave it for a few minutes. Wipe away and the results are sparkling ✨️

Do a little every day

Be systematic, concentrate on one room at a time, with a cup of tea between which is always vital, and try to be as eco-friendly as you can be :)

The best cleaning tip is hard work and having all your cleaning essentials at hand so you are prepared.

Do a little bit, often. That’s what my Granny would always say. Don’t tackle the whole house, do one room at a time. By the time you’ve done them all, it’s probably time to start the first room again, or to take a well earned break!
