My favourite hike is the walk down Chee dale in the peak district. It has stepping stones, impressive rail bridges and a river, with gorgeous flora and fauna! It's especially brilliant on a hot summer's day as the dale remains quite cool.

I am going for a long walk in the countryside this sunday 10th aug to visit robin hoods cave hidden in the cliff face of stanage edge, the walk starts on one side of stanage edge and make my way to the top by climbing rocks over a natural river, once at the top the view is amazing!

Walking along the top of the cliff comes all sorts of wierd and wonderful sights, including snakes basking on the boulders in the sunshine and also what looks like a huge pterodactyl nest on the edge of the cliff, its probably not but it looks awesome.

After making my way to robin hoods cave and getting inside, the caves back opening comes out onto its own natural balcony, overlooking everything as far as the eye can see, its breathtaking.

This is my most favourite walk and I hope more people experience it.

I did a hike for charity it was amazing climbing Snowdonia and seeing the beautiful sunrise ✨️

Heartwood Forest in Sandridge, St Albans is our favourite walking spot. There's numerous trails through the forest and wildflower meadows. There's short and longer walks and it is also dog-friendly.

I have challenged myself to hike as many of the Munros in the highlands as I can. Only 15 in…..didn’t realise how many there are.

Theres a really nice bird reserve thats just open to the public, as well as some great canal paths that cut straight through the city in Derby, they remain peaceful and quiet throughout the day despite being just the other side of built up areas.

Sheffield Round Walk is a 15-mile circular route that beautifully blends city life with countryside charm. It’s a local favourite for good reason—here’s a deeper look at what makes it special:

Overview
- **Distance**: ~15 miles (24 km)
- **Duration**: 6–7 hours if done in one go
- **Start/End Point**: Endcliffe Park, near Hunters Bar
- **Terrain**: Mix of public footpaths, bridleways, and roads; can get muddy in winter
- **Waymarking**: Look out for acorn signs to stay on track

Key Highlights Along the Route
- **Porter Valley**: Begins at Endcliffe Park and follows the Porter Brook through Whiteley Woods to Forge Dam. Includes stops like the 16th-century Shepherd Wheel and Forge Dam Café
- **Limb Valley**: From Ringinglow, the path descends alongside the Limb Brook through Whirlowbrook Hall’s grounds and Ecclesall Woods—Sheffield’s largest ancient woodland
- **Historic Sites**: Passes Beauchief Abbey (12th century), Bishops’ House (Tudor building), and remnants of old mills
- **Parks Galore**: Includes Graves Park, Meersbrook Park, and Chelsea Park—each with its own character and views

Route Sections (if you want to break it up)
- **Porter Valley**: ~3.5 miles, flat and family-friendly
- **Limb Valley**: ~3.3 miles, more rural and scenic
- **Gleadless Valley & Beauchief**: Urban meets woodland
- **Graves Park to Endcliffe**: Heritage woodlands and animal farm

Pit Stops & Perks
- Cafés at Forge Dam and Graves Park
- Mayfield Alpacas near Ringinglow
- Woodland Coffee Stop in Ecclesall Woods (open spring–summer)

It’s a walk that truly showcases Sheffield’s green heart. Want help planning a day out or breaking it into manageable chunks? I can even suggest where to grab the best post-walk cake.

We welk our dogs from the Pontcysytlle Aquqduct along the canal to Llangollen. Stop for a pint at the Corn Mill Pub which is right on the River Dee then back again. Such a pretty place with lots of friendly people.

My favourite walk / hike was over Worm's head on the Gower peninsula. It's not the easiest, but on a sunny day it's amazing. I saw seals and jellyfish from up high, various birds throughout, and rock pools on the first causeway part. Wear sturdy shoes!

My favorite hike is in and around New Malden and Kingston, while doing my errands or shopping.

There is Beverley park, which ia a green space with tennis courts, a rose. Garden, lots of dogs with their human walkers, people having picnics, a children's playground with swings, slides, gym equipment, etc. Lots of benches for people to sit, chat, read.

Kingston is right by the River Thames, a lovely walk with lots of pubs along the river. Even just visiting all the shops and restaurants around Kingston is a hike. There is also the vegetable and miscellaneous market which sells everything.

My favourite is a walk up the Solway Coast to Grune Point. It’s so remote and far from anything. I can watch Skylarks and rabbits. There’s also the possibility of spotting wreckage of Hudson aircraft lost during the war.

Hiking up Snowdon is an unforgettable experience! The views along the way are absolutely breathtaking, especially as you near the summit. It’s a challenging trek depending on the route you take, but totally worth it for the sense of accomplishment and the panoramic scenery at the top. Highly recommend going early to beat the crowds and catch the sunrise if you can!

I climb Scafell Pike often, and it never gets old. Even though it’s England’s highest peak, I still find new challenges each time. The changing weather keeps it interesting, and the views from the top – when they’re clear – are always incredible.

Helvellyn via Striding Edge is one of my regular routes, and it still gives me a rush every time. That narrow ridge gets the heart going, and the feeling when I reach the summit is unbeatable. It’s my go-to for a proper adrenaline fix.

I find myself returning to Ingleborough all the time. The limestone landscape is so distinctive, and the climb has just the right balance of effort and enjoyment. It’s a great mountain for clearing my head and stretching my legs.
