I recently switched to ID mobile from another network carrying my old number over. However I am now unable to receive 2 factor authentication codes sent via SmS

Hi there @SallyAnnTaylor, sorry to hear that.

Is this for all one-time codes, or only some from specific companies please?

Thanks,

Tyler

Hi there @SallyAnnTaylor, when you go into phone settings, is your phone number showing correctly?

Thanks,

Tyler

Thanks @SallyAnnTaylor , please follow the steps below to check and update it if needed:

  1. Open ‘Settings’.

  2. Tap ‘Phone’.

  3. Tap ‘My Number’.

  4. Enter your mobile number, using +44 instead of the first 0.

  5. Tap ‘Save’.

Please note: If you can’t enter the correct number, go to: Settings > Apple ID > Sign-In & Security > Email & Phone Numbers. Tap 'Add email or phone number' and enter the correct number.

As a last resort, perform a Network Settings Reset on your iPhone. Here’s how:

  1. Open ‘Settings’.

  2. Tap ‘General’.

  3. Tap ‘Transfer or Reset iPhone’.

  4. Tap ‘Reset’.

  5. Select ‘Reset Network Settings’.

  6. Enter your passcode, then tap ‘Reset Network Settings’.

Please note: Resetting network settings will erase saved Wi-Fi networks and VPN settings. After the reset, you will need to re-enter Wi-Fi passwords and configure any other network settings as needed. This will NOT delete any of your personal data like contacts, photos, or apps.

Hi there,

I did a network reset per last resort but it worked on my old phone which my Son uses for games and not the phone that I’m actually on and using (and did the reset from).

my phone also isn’t sending normal sms messages as well.

also! I’m getting some authentication codes now but they come in hours and sometimes days after I’ve requested them and then when I try again as you need to use within a certain time, I’m then not getting them again.

i brought my phone from Curry’s - but have a contract with ID mobile who I can’t contact. Would you suggest going back into curry’s to sort?

thanks

OK @SallyAnnTaylor

Do you mean you get the codes and SMS when you use the SIM in a different handset?
