Data Usage


 My son has an IPhone 13. He is using data like water.  It’s an ongoing issue but he’s just used 16GB in 4 days. He has previously enabled low data mode and says he’s turns the data off when home. I have no idea how I can find out what is the data being used on. Any ideas?

@AmandaHugs Good day here are things consume a lot of data. Having your device automatically check for Phone software updates, having app updates on automatically update, streaming service watching videos  Netflix, YouTube etc music streaming any type of download all consume data and don't forget all the social apps WhatsApp, Facebook etc etc plus background service's. 

As for what is actually consuming this vast amount of data you'll have to go into the Phone's settings for this.

Plus there over things like AI technology which uses real time and news a data connection. 

Hope this helps you. 

There are thing's you could put into place which limits the time connected to the mobile data once again you'll have to check with your phone's manual for this.

As kindly advised by ​@JoeKing, it’s very easy for data to be used up via different sources on the phone.

 

To see how much data is left, you’ll need to either log into the iD Mobile app/website and check there, or via the phone’s own settings.

 

You cannot view how much data is being used daily via the iD Mobile app/website however, I’m afraid.

 

If you wish to see how much data was used on certain days etc, this can only be viewed via the itemised bill created each month.

Thank you both for your help. No idea what’s he’s using the data on but will investigate and hopefully find out with the information you’ve given me.
