Hi @CherryJam

Thank you for reaching out, and I'm sorry to hear that you're having difficulty getting the eSIM to work on your iPad.

Please note that our iD Mobile eSIMs are approved and tested for use with compatible mobile handsets, rather than iPads or other tablet devices. While an iD Mobile eSIM may sometimes work in a tablet, we cannot guarantee compatibility or provide support for its use in these devices.

For this reason, we wouldn't recommend using an iD Mobile eSIM in an iPad unless the device and service have been confirmed as compatible.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

Hi @CherryJam.

Thank you for your post.  I’m really sorry you’re stuck without service.

Since eSIMs aren’t officially supported on iPads, one thing you could try is a physical SIM card. While we can’t guarantee it’ll work in every tablet, some customers have had success using a physical SIM in their iPads.

You can either: Contact us directly via: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat, and we’ll be happy to arrange a physical SIM for you, or visit your nearest Currys store, where you can pick one up in person.

It’s worth giving it a try to see if it resolves the issue for you.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Marquerita

Hi

I have installed an eSIM today which is showing as full signal and registered but still ain’t working.  This is most disappointing as I rely on this for information whilst I am away and obviously can’t receive a physical sim whilst away

Hi @CherryJam.

Thank you for your post. I’m really sorry to hear your eSIM is showing full signal but still isn’t working, especially as you rely on it for information while you’re away. I understand how disappointing and inconvenient this must be.

To help revive your connectivity, could you please try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Restart your device to refresh your connection to the network.
  • Turn Airplane Mode on for around 30 seconds, then turn it off again.
  • Check that your mobile data is switched on (if you’re experiencing data issues).
  • Remove your SIM card, gently wipe it with a clean, dry cloth, reinsert it, and restart your device.
  • Check that your device software is fully up to date.
  • Reset your network settings to refresh your device’s connection to the network.

Could you also let me know the make and model of your device, that way I can provide the exact steps for a network reset tailored to your phone.

Thanks,

Marquerita
