Google pixel 8a number switch

Hi, I have recently purchased a Google Pixel 8a on contract. Went through the number switch and was told it was all good to go. But, the number is unknown under that SIM slot and is not making, or receiving calls. Been onto the chat several times, picked up a new SIM card as requested etc. still no good. Although we have mobile data and can send/receive text messages. the ID mobile guys don't seem to have a clue and so I am left in the lurch. Do I just return the phone and cancel?. Anybody had similar issues and resolved them ?

Can you please confirm if you are still experiencing the issue?

If yes, does your handset settings allow you to manually enter the correct phone number? 

 

  1. Open your device's Settings app and tap Google Your name Manage your Google Account.
  2. At the top, tap Personal info.
  3. Under "Contact info," tap Phone number
  4. From here, you can: Add a phone number: Under "Your phone numbers," select Add recovery phone. (We recommend that you add a recovery phone number if you haven't already.) ...
  5. Follow the steps on the screen.

Thanks for your reply. But it took so long that I sent the phone back for a refund and have had to go elsewhere.
