Have I made the wrong choice? Phone not ringing

Hi all, 

New user here.. Well, new to the forum. 

I took out a contract about 6 months ago but it seems like I made a bad decision with this network. I gave the sim to my daughter as she started High School so she can ring us and vice versa for school pick up etc.. 

When ever we rang her she didnt answer, so we questioned her thinking its because her phones been on silent etc, but there were no missed calls! 

We then rang again whilst the phone next to us, and we can hear it ringing from our phone, but her iD network didnt ring at all??!! 

I gave her another phone thinking the phone had become faulty but it was the same issue. I then thought maybe it might be our service provider as me and my wife are with EE. So I then got someone else to ring from a different network and guess what, same issue!

How can this be fixed, feels abit pointless giving her a phone if it doesn't ring. 

P. S. This happens intermittently, alot more that one would like... The odd call may go through but its 5050. 

Hope this is an easy fix.. Also, what are the chances of exiting from the contract since its not fulfilling what its designed to do?

Sounds like it might be an issue with the network account, for the iD SIM card, your daughter uses, ​@Minhaj Patel

Probably best to web chat to the iD customer service team, who work until 8pm on weekdays.

When they aren’t seeing the call come up on their side, what happens when they try to call you?

 

Has a replacement SIM card been tried?

 

What device is the iD Mobile SIM being used in?

I did a live chat but then it said 'chat ended' before i got told if they advisor who i was chatting to has ordered me a new sim.

Its a samsung s21. 

They dont even see the call coming through on their device. But the caller can hear it ringing on their side.

Yes please. Can you kindly check for me. 

Its happening at every location. 

Tried switching phone on and off. 

Swapped phones. 

Checked the network settings. 

Tried everything except a new sim.

Was it working previously but all of a sudden stopped working as I’m thinking it may be due to the 3G switch off?

If this is the case you need to make sure VoLTE or 4g calling is activated on the handset through the handset settings menu.

No it's never worked since a few days in.. Its a 50 50 chance that the call will go through. I know its not a 3g or a phone issue. The reception shows full bars too... Just doesn't ring through. 1 way transmission.

Have you checked that VoLTE or 4g calling is activated on the handset through the handset settings menu.

Can you try your daughter’s SIM card in another handset to determine if it’s the handset or network/SIM issue.

Yes tried all that. I spoke to someone on the live chat. Explaining i've done everything possible including switching in wifi calling and still the same. She went onto saying she was going to order me a new sim to try but then the chat ended so unsure if she's ordered it or not.

If you have a Curry’s store close by you can always go there with ID to get a replacement SIM card.

Did you port an old number across to iD or is it a completely new number?

Usually when a replacement SIM card is ordered the old one will stop working straight away.

New number.. About 6 months old and its been like this for a few months. 

Its so frustrating that i cant speak to anyone in customer service as everything is online.

I have flagged this post up to a moderator and someone will be in contact with you soon. I do suggest you try a replacement SIM though as sounds like that’s the only thing you haven’t tried yet. Let us know how you get on. Are you able to pop to a local Curry’s store to get one?
