How do I switch to a new iD Sim only plan when my contract ends

My 24 month contract ends on 25/10/25.  I will move to a Sim only plan and I have found a deal which will still keep me on iD mobile as my service provider.

The new plan is not advertised on iD mobiles website as it is an offer via MoneySavingExpert website but deal ends on 26/10/2025..

By my reckoning I can inform you on 25/9/2025 ( 30 days ) of my intention not to continue my current plan.

If I stay with iD mobile I expect I don’t need to receive a new Sim card and If I sign up for the mentioned new Sim only deal does it automatically commence without the requirement to contact you to cancel my 24 month contract 29 days early ?

Hi @Adam Barr

If you purchase a new plan and choose to stay with iD Mobile, you would need to perform a triangle port method to keep your number as we don’t offer internal migrations within the same network.

If you upgrade, it would be a straight forward process and you wouldn’t require a new SIM. We would recommend calling our Sales team on 0207 1391 397 during normal office hours to discuss your plan.

Hi there @Adam Barr, to stay with us and keep your number, you’d need to order an upgrade, as with most if not all networks. If you decide to order a new plan, but still want your number, you’d need to do a triangle port.

Thanks,

Tyler

Im in the same position as Adam.  My contract is ending and I would like to stay with ID but with sim only.

What on earth is a triangle port?

Why can't I  just start a new contract using my current sim and phone number?

Hi @Merlin16

Thank you for your message.

You can stay with iD Mobile by moving to a SIM-only plan. However, you’ll be able to upgrade to a SIM-only deal during the final 21 days of your contract.

We have two upgrade stages:

Around two months before your contract ends, you can upgrade to a phone deal.
During the last 21 days of your contract, you can upgrade to a SIM-only plan.

I hope this helps clarify things for you.

Hi there, I’m in the same position where I’ve had an email to say it’s time to upgrade, but I just want a sim only deal. There are no sim only deals showing up for me, but I can see some sim deals when I google. Should I just pay for a new sim deal (for 24 months for example?) Will I have to change my phone number?

I think im already past the last 21 days of my contract, as my email now says that it’s time to upgrade (as opposed to nearly time). But how do I actually move to a sim only plan please? I can’t see that as an option when I go on the app or online.
