It’s likely because you shared your phone number with scammers who pretended to be from iD Mobile through private messages.

Hi, @sswarriach

Thank you for getting in touch with us, I am so sorry that you are not receiving HMRC massages. Please try the following steps :

  1. Open your messaging app and tap the menu icon (three dots or your profile picture).
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Find and tap Advanced (or similar).
  4. Tap on Phone number.
  5. Edit the number to the correct one and tap OK or Set.

Thank you,

Zandile

Hi @sswarriach  Thank you for getting in touch, and I’m really sorry to hear about these calls and emails. I completely understand how concerning this must be.

Please be assured that iD Mobile will never contact you to ask for your bank details, login information, or security codes. The calls and emails you’ve described sound like phishing or scam attempts.

Here’s what we recommend you do:

Do not share any personal or payment information with anyone claiming to be from iD Mobile unless you’re sure it’s an official channel.

Do not click any links or download attachments from suspicious emails — especially those from personal domains like Gmail.

If you believe you’ve shared any sensitive details, please contact your bank immediately and let them know.
