You can download the eSIM to your old phone if it’s compatible but when you get your new phone you will have to order a replacement eSIM for that one via the app.

Once you activate the 1st eSIM you will be able to request a number port if you wish to transfer an old number.

Upto you. It’s only one extra step. Depends on how fast you want to transfer your old number across. 

I guess it depends how long the change over takes. If it takes a while I could do it now to avoid hassle, if it’s quick it’s no hassle to wait.

Takes 1 working day if applied for before 5pm. If done before 5pm on Friday will be Monday.
