Recently switched over and went to log into my google account and had to set up 2 factor authentication, said it sent a verification code over and it didn’t send. I tried multiple times and it didn’t send anything, also tried with whatsapp and tesco bank. I’ve seen other people have issues with it on here and wanted to know if it was the case of it just being enabled on your end. Really need to for them to get through otherwise i cant set anything up.

P.s I can send and receive texts and calls normally to my contacts, just not receiving any short codes.

If you’re using an Android device, try turning OFF “Chat features” in the Messages app.

If you’re using an iPhone, try turning OFF iMessage and FaceTime.

Thank you very much! It has seemed to fix it , even if it's not a great permanent solution.

That’s good news @Joe6734.

I assume you’ve got and Android device - are you using this with your iD SIM?

Thanks @Joe6734, sorry to bombard you with questions, but did you get a new handset when you joined iD Mobile?

Okay thanks @Joe6734.

If your old phone was Android and had “Chat features” turned ON (in the Messages app), then the Google servers that handle “Chat features” can get out-of-sync when you change devices and move mobile numbers around.

This can cause problems with text messaging.

There’s more about the Messages app “Chat features” online at:
