Hi,

I would want to change/port my number to a new number.

I have tried using the system to port but its asking for transaction number. I would want to port to a new number and the current one with you turned into pay as go or sim only. How do I do this.

I have the pac code ready.

Also, does it means you don’t take calls. I normally just called my mobile provider and sort things out but there is no number to call or live chat. This is a new and very slow process. I hope I am safe joining this kind of provider

Hello @Ovie Uzuazebe

Thanks for getting back in touch.

I will add all your points to this post to ensure we cover them all 🙂

  • I have initially ported my number when I first jointed in Dec 2024 and I will like to port it again.

This is not a problem, if you wish to port a number to another provider we can arrange a PAC to be generated. To get a PAC, text the word PAC to 65075

  • I would want to change/port my number to a new number that I have. I have the pac code.

If you wish to port a number to iD Mobile, you would need to submit the request here.

  • Your system doesn't allow me to do it as its asking me for transaction number. Note, I have used the transaction number that was initially provided and I can’t find that same number

If you are unsure of your transaction number, we will pop you over a private message to provide this. Please check your inbox.

  • I raised my concern in this community and you came back to me after days when I have tried to chat with your colleague online.

We apologise for any delays with getting back to you here on the community. Unfortunately, response times can vary based on the volume of queries we have at the time.

  • I provided the pac code to you on chat and I requested the porting to take place on the 26 Feb. I was told there will be a £25 charge which i feel is obviously high which will be added to mine next bill.

There is no charge for porting a number over to iD Mobile. A charge of £25 would only be applied if you have requested a new number. We can check this via private message for you.

  • I am a bit concern as the person I chatted to seems not to fully understand what I was requesting and the person said they will be a confirmation email/sms but nothing has come which raise more of my concerns.

We understand your concern and will review this point in our private message chat.

  • so can an email/sms be sent if this has been actioned if not how can I address this?

When a port is completed, we would send a text message to confirm. We will need to double check if this has been booked in for you.

  • Also, would it be possible after the porting I turn my current number to pay as you go with your network or to port the number to another network?

If you are referring to the number that will be replaced when the port completes, this will be deactivated so we will not be able to switch this to a Pay As You Go.

Please check your inbox for a message for us to look in to this further for you.

Thanks,

Nat

Hey there @Ovie Uzuazebe, thank you for reaching out.

The transaction code should begin with “4”, and sent via the “Welcome to iD” email. Have you not received this?

We’re contactable via our live-chat, social media pages and Community pages, and online only.

Thank you,

Tyler

Thanks,

I dont have the transaction code anymore and I have also used it before. I have changed my number before but I want to change it again. I chatted with someone in your company and they said it will be ported on the 26 of Feb but I am not convince he/her has done it as he was confuse telling me I have used the pac code given and it took another 20 mins to convince h/here was wrong. He said I will get a confirmation email that my number will ported but I am yet to get any. How do I go about this now?

I am not use to this - I usually can call or visit my provider’s shop to solve issues but this is a bit long and possible delay. I am not happy I have to wait for days to get an answer to a concern. I just hope I will not regret switching to your network!

Unfortunately @Ovie Uzuazebe, you can’t change an iD pay monthly account to an iD pay-as-you-go account - nor can you use a PAC to transfer a mobile number from one iD account to another iD account.

The help & support options at iD Mobile are all online - iD don’t have a telephone support helpline.

This community article might help.

Thanks for your quick response but I don’t think you still understand my question or address any of my concern. I will try again.

Okay @Ovie Uzuazebe, I’m just a community member like yourself, so I don’t have access to your iD account or accounts nor the iD number porting system.

As far as I know you can submit a PAC code to iD Mobile, by using their Live Chat service.

In addition, iD Mobile charge £25 for an iD account mobile number change, when not done by using a PAC.

As before, you can’t use a PAC to transfer a number from one iD account to another iD account. A PAC can only be used for switching a mobile number from one service provider, to another service provider.
