Problem with my ported number

I recently switched to iD from Vodafone and successfully ported my old phone number. I have now travelled to Athens, Greece and my old number is not working. I have been able to send texts from the phone, but the Receiver says the text is arriving showing it came from the original iD number that came with the new iD contract and not my old ported number. I’m going to be in Greece for a couple of months and am at a loss as to what to do? Can anybody help?

Many thanks for your responses.

I followed the guidance and can now make calls use the internet, make texts etc, but I still can’t receive calls. My husband and son have both tried to call me on the ported number, but are receiving the recorded message, “Sorry the person you are trying to reach will not accept this call”.

Any ideas to help would be appreciated.

Thank you for letting us know @vfotou

To confirm, is your number showing as correct in the handset settings?

Thanks,

Yes, the number in the settings is correct. It is my old Vodafone number that has been ported to this contract. But my family in the UK, are getting the automated message above, when they try to call me, here in Greece.

Hi @vfotou

What phone are you using?

They’re trying to call you from the UK whilst you’re in Greece?

Are they ensuring to put +44 in front of your number instead of 0?

Thank you for trying to help.

The phone I use is a new iPhone16 that came with my new iD contract.

Yes, they are trying to call me from the UK whilst I’m in Greece (Athens).

Yes, they are using +44 instead of 0.

Hi @vfotou

Okay, are they sure their plan includes calls from the UK to Greece?

Calls internationally could be charged extra, they would be if on iD Mobile.

Hello Tom.

My husband just tried to call me using our UK home landline and still got the same message I’m afraid.
