Rcs messaging using old number.

I transferred my old number long time ago, but when using messages it's still showing old number(not the one I transferred)

I tried soothing off Rcs and leaning Sim card and it didn't help. When switching back on Rcs messaging it shows I'd status verification with old mobile number. Showing (verified).

Can't switch to my number at all.

Hello @Piotr Sobczak

Thanks for reaching out to us here on the community.

We are very sorry you initially had some issues with the incorrect number showing when messaging.

Just to confirm, are all your messages now displaying the correct number?

For others who may be experiencing similar issues, we would recommend taking the following steps.

1) Open Messages, go to Settings (top right, Message Settings), open "Chat Features" or "RCS Chats", verify if this is the correct number or not.

2) If it shows the incorrect one, then head to: https://messages.google.com/disable-chat and you should be able to unregister the number. Once done, turn off the Chat Features/RCS and the phone. Wait a few minutes and turn the device back on and re-enable Chat Features/RCS it should let you re-register/update to the correct number.

Alternatively, you can turn Chat Features/RCS off and test SMS after this.

Please let us know if you require further support.

Thanks,

Nat

I tried to change number but can't find. I also tried to add my number when switching on Rcs messaging. I added it but it doesn't want to verify and it comes back to old number and verify Instantly. Can you be so kind and guide me step by step?

Go to google. Manage Account, go to personal info. In contact info is your phone. There should be old and new number. Delete old number and put new one on auto verify. Save that. Now go to messages. RCS settings. If your number won't verify, turn on airplane mode. Then turn off.

I did what you said and I only have one number assigned to my account and it's correct one. I deleted it and tried to verify again but  message appeared that sth went wrong. Anyway at this moment I have old number still displayed as my ID number verified but when I I text to my partner it finally shows my desired number as sender. Somehow it's working and I hope it'll stay like that.

So far I can see that there is correct number displayed when somebody receive my message, but Rcs still shows old number as the one verified. I'll try to do as you recommended in the message and try to unregister old number.

Thanks @Piotr Sobczak, let us know if you need any further help with this at all. If the issue crops up again, a replacement SIM card will likely fix the issue.
