The web page at https://www.bbc.co.uk/ could not be loaded because:

net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET

Hi @Rudik

Sorry to hear this, have you tried resetting network settings?

Have you tried manually connecting to the following networks while in South Africa;

MTN

Telkom

Tried that as well Tom  ut same results.

I also see a little bar graph with a question mark and as notification 'sign in into network xxx' but when clicked on you don't get a sign in.

Hi @Rudik,

Do other websites work?

Can you try and access bbc.com? You may not be able to access the UK site whilst abroad.

Hi @Rudik

Is your bill cap high enough to support charges for data roaming whilst in South Africa?

Hi Tom,

Bill cap is high enough so not a problem.

Cheers

Hey @Rudik, sorry to hear that.

Do calls and texts work okay, just not data?

How long have you been roaming for and when did you join us?

Thanks,

Tyler

I am in Portugal and cannot get roaming data in my router. Works fine in UK. International roaming on. I have inclusive plan.

Hi  @Corjenny,

We can’t guarantee that your SIM will work in a router.

It’s likely that you need to change the APN settings if possible.

Ok. It works fine in the U.k. though.

That might be because the SIM is waiting for an ‘automated rate advice’ SMS from iD and it can’t get the text being as its in a router.

What I’d try is switch the router off, eject the SIM. With a phone (switched off too) put the routers SIM in the phone and switch the phone on. Wait for the rate advice text. Turn the phone off, pop the SIM back into the router and see if it then works.

Hey @Corjenny, as mentioned, we cannot guarantee it’ll work.

So if it works in the UK, that’s a positive at least as we can only advise that it may or may not work.

Thanks,

Tyler

Hi. My router does receive messages and it has not acknowledged Portugal.

I had a message as we travelled through France and Spain.

Of the networks available in Portugal you should see these:

MEO or NOS or Vodafone

If you manually scan for networks try picking the 2nd or 3rd one on the list rather than the 1st one.

I’m back in UK now. I could not access internet when in Italy. I tried all the tips on line but no joy. I need to speak to someone to go through my settings to check all are correct. It’s an iphone 12 . I checked data roaming was switched on phone and ID account. I turned off and on to clear. I have eSim but not sure if it is working, though I get wifi and hotspot OK.

I’m going to cancel when my month is up as no customer support is annoying. I’ll go back to 3 where I was before without any problems

Hey there @Peter49, sorry to hear that.

Unfortunately, it’s difficult to troubleshoot and check settings etc if you’re already back in the UK I’m afraid.

If you have issues in the UK, please let us know and we can investigate further. Or, please get in touch right away if you have issues abroad again so we can check it out further for you then.

Thanks,

Tyler
