Same service as three??

I joined idmobile as a friend has a phone on the three network and always gets a great signal / service.

However today we were both in the same location and he had a great service whereas I couldn't even get a phone signal, let alone internet.

Surely as idmobile runs on the three network I should have had the same service as him!

Is the idmobile service somehow inferior to a direct three connection?

@DGG  Anything is possible and it can even be down to the handsets. Example I have a few devices with my IDMobile sim in my Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G I hardly get 2 bars normally 1 bar. Now with my Nothing Phone 2 and the IDMobile sim I get maximum signal reading all day long in the same location.

Unless you tested your sim card in your friends phone and their sim in your phone in the same location for a comparison.

  • iD Mobile is a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) that uses Three's network . This means iD Mobile doesn't have its own network infrastructure, but instead relies on Three UK to provide the mobile network services.
  • iD Mobile customers receive the same network coverage and service as Three UK customers . This includes access to Three's 4G and 5G networks.
  • There is no technical difference in terms of coverage or capacity between Three and iD Mobile.

He has a Honor phone and l have a Pixel 8a, both budget phones so I'm surprised there is such a difference!!!

Suppose I need to look for another network.

Unless you try what I mentioned previously you'll never know. I also have Honor and Huawei devices and overall in my views they are better then many of the major brands out there.

Hi @DGG

Thanks for getting in touch.

We are sorry to hear you are experiencing issues on the network.

Can we please take the postcode for where the signal drops?

Also, are you using 4G or 5G when this happens?

Thanks,

Natalie

Hi @DGG,

How long have you been experiencing the issues?

I can’t see any issues in that area, have you tested the SIM in another handset?

Hi,

I have revisited the area again today and got a 4G signal with occasional 5G so guess it must have been a temporary glitch!

Thanks for reviewing
