SIM different number to transfer using PAC code on android app

Have received and set up old number using PAC code but phone /SIM is still showing a different number. The app has the correct number and plan. Do I need to do anything with phone SIM and how do I change?

No joy. No issue with correct number appearing in calls/texts. Issue is how to change Sim card on phone to reflect transferred across number?

I see what you mean now. So I would suggest 3 things to try then - though I’m assuming the old providers SIM was removed and the iD SIM is in slot 1.

  1. Restart the phone with the SIM inserted
  2. With the phone on eject the SIM, turn the phone off, turn the phone on and wait a few minutes and then reinsert the SIM
  3. With the phone on eject the SIM, reinsert the SIM and then restart the phone

If none of the above fixes this the only other suggestion I can think of would be to pop down to your nearest Currys store and ask them for a replacement SIM as this would be the quickest method (you can ask for one via live chat or via the iD app). You would then need to activate this SIM via your online account (not the iD app). Wait until the current SIM shows no service and then put this replacment SIM in the phone (and your number moves to that SIM). This may clear the number issue as the newest SIM should then have your number prior to installing it.

FWIW - What can happen is the provisional number allocated by iD on the SIM is retained by the phone, but most others report the wrong number showing when making calls etc, whereas your issue is the phone has remembered this provisional number. By using the online SIM activation this should bypass the phone seeing the wrong number.

Thanks but no joy. I’ll pop to Curry’s and see how I get on.

Oh well, it was worth a try Pete.

But after getting a replacement follow my advice above, activate that SIM before putting it in the phone and wait until the current one shows no service. And only then swap the SIM over, 🤞 this corrects the number.
